Skin cancer checks
Whether you are worried about a specific mole on your body or looking for a comprehensive head-to-toe assessment, Dr Ankit will ease you through the process with clear explanations at every step.

The skin check consultation starts with questions about your medical history, occupation and lifestyle to build your skin cancer risk profile. During this process you will have the opportunity to flag any specific skin spots of concern. With your consent, Dr Ankit will proceed with conducting a thorough head-to-toe skin check. If there are any skin lesions of concern, then Dr Ankit will discuss the best next step (e.g. biopsy, surgical removal).

All skin check consultations are conducted with privacy in mind and you are encouraged to ask questions during the process.

Cyst & lipoma removals
Cyst and lipomas are usually harmless but irritating lumps in the skin. In cosmetically sensitive sites (e.g. face, neck), these lumps can affect self-confidence and cause significant distress for some people.

If you have a skin lump that you would like removed, Dr Ankit will first assess the lesion by asking about its history and whether there have been any complications (e.g. previous attempted removal, infection). Usually the diagnosis of the lump is clear after a clinical examination, but in select cases further tests may be required to adequately characterise the lump (e.g. ultrasound). Options for removal will then be discussed with a focus of the impact of the procedure on your work and lifestyle (e.g. wound care, recovery time and expected results).

Assessment of previously undiagnosed skin rashes
Whether you have had a skin rash for a few weeks or a few years, Dr Ankit can provide a full assessment of the rash to reach an accurate diagnosis. These consultations start with a history of the rash, your medical history and any key symptoms caused by the rash (e.g. itch, impact on your life). If further tests are required, Dr Ankit will be able to perform these and discuss the results (e.g. biopsy, swabs, skin scrapings).

Once a diagnosis has been determined, Dr Ankit will discuss the most suitable treatment option for you and your lifestyle.

Management of common skin conditions such as rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, tinea and hair loss
Dr Ankit will assess the history of your condition, including any treatments that you may have tried. Occasionally, further tests may be required to confirm the diagnosis, especially if your rash has not responded to common treatments. He will then be able to generate a personalised treatment plan based on the best available scientific evidence for that condition as well as your personal goals.

For conditions that persist long term (e.g. psoriasis, eczema, rosacea), Dr Ankit will help you find the right balance of treatments to inactivate the condition and maintain healthy skin for as long as possible.

Laser therapy
Dr Ankit is trained and licensed to provide laser treatments using our Lutronic DermaV Nd:YAG laser. This laser is best suited to treat the following skin issues:

  • Visible blood vessels on the nose or cheeks (i.e. telangiectasia)
  • Redness and flushing of the cheeks, forehead or nose (e.g. rosacea)
  • Removal of blood vessel lesions such as cherry angiomas
  • Reduction in some types of pigmentation (e.g. solar lentigines)

If you are interested in pursuing laser treatment, the first consultation will involve an evaluation of the area that you would like treated and a discussion of your medical history. If laser treatment is right for you, Dr Ankit will provide you a thorough understanding of what is involved, the expected benefits and any short-term side effects to keep in mind.

Laser treatments are delivered in our laser room by Dr Ankit to ensure safety, comfort and accuracy. You will be informed of any skin preparation that may be required before and after the procedure.
